Uzum成为乌兹别克斯坦第一家独角兽公司

援引乌兹别克斯坦国家宪报4月11日消息，乌兹别克斯坦数字服务生态系统公司Uzum的数字生态系统已获得超过1亿美元的开发资金，使其成为乌兹别克斯坦第一家估值超过10亿美元的“独角兽”科技公司。此次A轮融资由全球风险基金FinSight Ventures领投。总部设在印度、专注于海湾地区市场的Xanara投资管理公司与Uzum的高管一起完成了跟投。

Uzum计划利用这笔资金发展乌兹别克斯坦的IT和物流基础设施，并为公司的贷款服务提供资金。公司计划在2024年推出乌兹别克斯坦最大的在线商务物流综合体，预计年内其平台电商营业额将增加150%以上。公司还计划向包括个人在内的中小企业推出各种无担保贷款生态系统产品。

Uzum创始人兼首席执行官Djasur Djumaev表示，乌兹别克斯坦每月有超过1000万人使用该公司的服务。按用户数量和订单量计算，该公司的电子商务部门在2023年成为乌兹别克斯坦最大的在线平台，创造了约1.5亿美元的营业额。

Uzum ecosystem raised over $100 million for its development, with half from equity and the rest borrowed, becoming Uzbekistan’s first tech “unicorn” with a valuation surpassing $1 billion. Uzum is also the first company originating from Uzbekistan that TechCrunch reported on. Leading the Series A investment is global venture fund FinSight Ventures, Xanara Investment Management, based in India and focused on the Gulf region, alongside top Uzum executives, participated in the round.

Uzum plans to use the funds to develop Uzbekistan's IT and logistics infrastructure and to finance the company's loan services. The company plans to launch the largest online commerce logistics complex in Uzbekistan in 2024 and expects its platform e-commerce turnover to increase by more than 150% during the year. The company also plans to launch various unsecured loan ecosystem products to small and medium enterprises, including individuals.

Uzum founder and CEO Djasur Djumaev said that more than 10 million people in Uzbekistan use the company's services every month. In terms of the number of users and the number of orders, the company's e-commerce division became the largest online platform in Uzbekistan in 2023, generating a turnover of about $150 million.

Uzum's ecosystem combines e-commerce, fintech and banking services for individuals and smes, including e-commerce, Courier services, banking and fintech, buy now pay later (BNPL) services, car buying platforms and entrepreneur apps. These components are being merged into two super applications: Uzum for individuals and Uzum Business for corporate entities. Nikolay Seleznev, chief strategy and business development officer at Uzum, said that the country's online payments market is expected to grow six-fold by 2026, the e-commerce sector by eight to nine times, and the fintech sector by eight times.

The e-commerce market in Uzbekistan is the fastest growing market in Central Asia and is expected to grow sevenfold in the next five years. Experts attribute this potential growth and aggressive digital transformation of the country's economy to high Internet penetration, a young population, and limited penetration of banking and financial services.
