【合作案例精选】“数字敦煌”展示敦煌石窟文化艺术数字化成果

2023年5月23日，在“中国-上海合作组织数字技术合作发展论坛”开幕式上，《中国-上合组织国家数字领域合作案例集(2023年)》(以下简称案例集)正式发布。此案例集从申报企业、应用国家、案例简介、应用背景及实施效果等多个角度对入围案例的创新成果和最佳实践进行系统性归纳与梳理。合作案例应用覆盖中国、俄罗斯、印度、哈萨克斯坦、乌兹别克斯坦等国家，有效推动了上海合作组织国家数字领域产品、服务、应用、数字基础设施和解决方案方面经验共享，为上海合作组织国家数字领域国际合作树立了标杆典范。案例集中入选的37个项目颇具代表性，本篇文章将对《“数字敦煌”展示敦煌石窟文化艺术数字化成果》案例进行详述。

案例介绍

该案例中，“数字敦煌”资源库通过对敦煌石窟数字化成果的展示利用，首次实现了敦煌石窟文化艺术通过互联网全球共享，所展示内容涵盖高精度壁画图像、石窟三维重建、洞窟虚拟漫游节目、敦煌文化艺术多媒体节目等，形式丰富多样、代表性突出，体验性强，在海内外赢得广泛反响，促进敦煌文化艺术的国际传播弘扬。该案例曾入选2022世界互联网大会“携手构建网络空间命运共同体”精品案例。

敦煌研究院持续实施敦煌石窟数字化保护工程，形成了海量的数字化资源。2016年“数字敦煌”资源库上线，实现了30个洞窟整窟高清图像和全景漫游节目全球共享；2017年9月，“数字敦煌”资源库英文版上线，满足全世界用户足不出户领略敦煌文化，至今，“数字敦煌”访问用户遍布全球78个国家，累计访问量超过1900万余人次。2022年12月8日，敦煌研究院联合腾讯公司打造的“数字敦煌·开放素材库”正式上线，打造了全球首个基于区块链的数字文化遗产开放共享平台，莫高窟等石窟遗址及敦煌藏经洞文献的6500余份高清数字资源档案通过素材库向全球开放，为学者、文化爱好者以及艺术创意者打造“一站式”的敦煌文化共享平台。

案例应用效果

该案例通过应用以摄影与计算机技术相结合的壁画二维图像数字化技术、以激光扫描为主的洞窟结构和雕塑三维重建技术、以遥感测绘和倾斜摄影为主的大遗址三维重建技术、海量数据存储安全管理技术和数字化展览展示技术，首次实现了不可移动文物信息的永久保存、永续利用，使得敦煌石窟文化艺术通过互联网进行全球共享。这一开创性构建的文化遗产数字资源授权利用体系，将通过资源、技术、授权与管理模式的协同创新，向社会大众提供便捷化、智能化、个性化的数字资源服务。

敦煌研究院是负责世界文化遗产敦煌莫高窟、天水麦积山石窟、永靖炳灵寺石窟、全国重点文物保护单位瓜州榆林窟、敦煌西千佛洞、庆阳北石窟寺管理的综合性研究型事业单位，也是国家古代壁画与土遗址保护工程技术研究中心、古代壁画保护国家文物局重点科研基地、甘肃省敦煌文物保护研究中心的依托单位。

Case Introduction

In this case, the Digital Dunhuang Repository achieved the global sharing of Dunhuang grottoes culture and art through the Internet for the first time through the display and utilization of the digital results of Dunhuang Grottoes. The contents displayed include high-precision mural images, three-dimensional reconstruction of the grottoes, virtual tour programs of the caves, multimedia programs of Dunhuang culture and art, etc., with rich forms, outstanding representativeness and strong experience. It has won wide response at home and abroad and promoted the international spread of Dunhuang culture and art. This case has been selected into the "Excellent Cases of 'Jointly Building a Community of Shared Future in Cyberspace'" at the 2022 World Internet Conference.

Case background

The Dunhuang Academy has further implemented the digital protection project of Dunhuang Grottoes, forming a large number of digital resources. In 2016, the Digital Dunhuang Repository was launched, and high-definition images of the entire 30 caves and panoramic roaming programs were shared globally. In September 2017, the English version of Digital Dunhuang Repository was launched, enabling users all over the world to enjoy Dunhuang culture without leaving their homes. So far, "Digital Dunhuang" has been visited by users in 78 countries around the world, with a total of more than 19 million visits. On December 8, 2022, the "Digital Dunhuang Open Material Repository" jointly created by Dunhuang Academy and Tencent was officially launched, creating the world's first blockchain-based digital cultural heritage open sharing platform. More than 6,500 high-definition digital resource archives of Mogao Grottoes and other grottoes sites and Dunhuang Scriptures Cave documents were opened to the world through the Material Repository, creating a "one-stop" Dunhuang culture sharing platform for scholars, culture lovers and art creators.

Case application effect

In this case, by leveraging the digital technology of 2D mural images combined with photography and computer technology, the 3D reconstruction technology of cave structures and sculptures based on laser scanning, the 3D reconstruction technology of large sites based on remote sensing mapping and oblique photography, the security management technology of mass data storage and digital exhibition technology, the permanent preservation and sustainable use of immovable cultural relics information has been realized for the first time, enabling the Dunhuang Grottoes culture and art to be shared globally through the Internet. This pioneering authorized utilization system of cultural heritage digital resources will provide convenient, intelligent and personalized digital resource services to the public through the collaborative innovations in resources, technology, authorization and management mode.

The Dunhuang Academy is a public research institution that carries out a full spectrum of activities to manage world cultural heritages (Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Maiji Mountain Grottoes in Tianshui and Bingling Temple Grottoes in Yongjing), and key sites under state protection (Yulin Caves in Guazhou, the Western Thousand Buddha Caves in Dunhuang and Northern Cave Temple in Qingyang).
